Default Title

This is a classic floral still life depicting a lush bouquet of mixed roses (red, pink, white, and yellow). The texture and blending heavily suggest an oil or acrylic painting on canvas or board, though it could also be a high-quality vintage lithograph textured to mimic brushstrokes. The dramatic contrast between the colorful, brightly lit roses and the dark, moody background is a traditional style inspired by Dutch Golden Age flower paintings, which saw a major revival in mid-century home decor. Knowing it is on a vintage commercial canvas cements its status as a decorative mid-century piece. Its market value remains steady in the $150 to $300 range. The presence of a Feather Brand stamp on the canvas heavily indicates the piece was painted on a mass-produced, commercially prepared canvas. This brand was highly prominent from the 1950s through the 1970s. I did take it off the canvas because it showed paint fading around the borders of the canvas. Although this drastic reduction in value is concerning, the overall appearance of the item was unsatisfactory. Consequently, I decided to remove it and replace it with a frame.
